Australian Government Information and Communications Technology Security Manual (ACSI 33),
the newer Information Security Manual (ISM)
and the
Protective Security Manual (PSM)
The Information Security Manual (ISM - previously known as the Australian Government Information and Communications Technology Security Manual/ACSI 33) has been developed by the Defence Signals Directorate (DSD) to provide policies and guidance to Australian Government agencies on how to protect their Information Technology, and Communications systems.
The Protective Security Manual, issued by the Attorney-General's Department, provides guidance on protective security policies, principles, standards and procedures to be followed by all Australian Government agencies for the protection of official resources.
The Snare Server, from InterSect Alliance, provides a centralised collection, analysis, reporting and archival function for a variety of audit log sources, and is used by several organisations to meet national guidelines associated with ISM/ACSI33 and the PSM in Australia, and equivalents in other countries - such as DCID/DIAM in the USA.
